With a Victron Energy GX device that has the latest released software version V2.60 or higher, it is possible to change the device instance of a MG Master LV, MG Master HV or SmartLink MX.
On the Victron Energy GX device, go to: Settings -> Services -> VE.CAN port -> Devices -> MG BMS or MG SmartLink MX/PLC -> Device Instance.
The number shown on the VRM website is not the same as the
Device instance! This is the VRM instance and can be found at the device information (Example: MG BMS 400A -> Device -> VRM instance).
