The schematic below shows an system example with TC chargers connected to the MG battery system.
For use on board a vessel it is recommended to use an isolation transformer. It needs at least to be considered.
The maximum units in parallel is 3.
For parallel operation, units must be ordered with separate ID. Unit ID cannot be field changed or reprogrammed. Similarly if replacement unit is ordered, UNIT ID must be specified at time of order.
The TC chargers can only be controlled by CAN-Bus. Therefore the SmartLink MX is required to act as a controller between the MG Master LV/HV and the chargers.
The SmartLink MX is required to control the TC chargers by CAN-Bus.
The DC connector differs on the several versions of chargers available.
The CAN-Bus bitrate is fixed @ 250 kbit/s.
For proper operation the use of a CAN-Bus isolator is required.
Connect the CAN-Bus to the CAN-A of the SmartLink MX.
The SmartLink MX is controlling the connected chargers by CAN-Bus. The configuration consists of a normal configuration to add the connected Master LV/HV's to the SmartLink MX and a few settings to enable the charger control.
Adding a Master LV/HV to the SmartLink MX configuration:
The chargers are controlled by the SmartLink MX. A few settings need to be changed to enable this functionality.
